- Willingness to work weekends and holidays
Description:
This is a night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
The unit is a fast-paced surgical step-down unit.
The typical nurse-patient ratio is 4:1, and sometimes 3:1.
Nurses will be required to manage various devices, including:
- Chest tubes
- Arterial lines
- PICC lines and other central lines
- Ostomies
- Trachs
- NG tubes
- Wound vacs
- Other drains
Nurses must be comfortable with drips and IV infusions such as:
- Heparin
- Insulin
- Nitro
- Amiodarone
- Cardizem
Candidates should be prepared to work over Thanksgiving and one of the other winter holidays.
