Staffing for day shift includes 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 Clinical Coordinator. Night shift has 3-4 RNs and 1 PCT on duty. Patient ratios are 4-5 patients per RN. The unit is equipped with cardiac telemetry and manages patients with chest tubes and various cardiac drips. Post-cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology studies, device placements, groin management, and post-operative surgical patients are typical cases treated. Epidurals and PCA management are also included in the care provided. Ideal candidates are outgoing, team-oriented, and willing to go above and beyond for patients. Time management skills are essential due to high turnover of patients. Preferred skills include teamwork abilities.
