Description:
The unit has 15 beds.
There are 22 staff members including RNs and PCTs.
The staffing includes 3-4 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 Clinical Coordinator on day shifts.
Night shifts consist of 3-4 RNs and 1 PCT.
Patient ratios are 4-5 patients per nurse.
The unit is equipped with Cardiac Telemetry, chest tubes, and various cardiac drips.
Patients include those who are post-cardiac catheterization, and surgical patients including open-heart, lung, general surgery, and orthopedic patients requiring cardiac monitoring.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
The ideal candidate should possess strong teamwork skills.
Time management is essential due to the high turnover of patients.
Typical procedures performed include post-cardiac cath care, EP studies, device placements, groin management, and critical drips.
Candidates who are outgoing, team-oriented, and willing to go above and beyond for patients will be prioritized.
Floating may occur to ICU taking PCU type patients, as well as to Med-surg.
Every other weekend or four weekend shifts are expected.
Scrub attire should be navy or white, with options to mix and match.
