# Job Opportunity – Stepdown RN – North Carolina**Start Date:** August 24, 2026 **Location:** North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Every other weekend requiredHighlights:
- 40-bed progressive care cardiac unit specializing in CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmia, valvular disease, and post-procedural cardiac patients
- Patient ratio 1:4, with stretch staffing at 1:5
- Experience with cardiac drips including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, and heparin
- EMR system: Cerner; equipment includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, and bladder scanners
- Collaborative team environment with charge nurse, bedside nurses, PCTs, and unit secretary support
- Opportunities to work with advanced cardiac therapies and post-cath/pacer/ICD/ablation patients
Requirements:
- Active RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Stepdown or progressive care experience required
- Telemetry monitoring experience required
- Demonstrated competency with titratable cardiac IV medications
- Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) preferred
- Relief charge experience preferred
- Flexibility to float to medical-surgical units, stepdown units, and ER holding as needed
