# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Registered Nurse – Western North Carolina**Start Date:** September 2026 **Location:** Western North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends (every other weekend). Standard shift staffing includes Charge Nurse, bedside RNs, PCTs, and Unit Secretary support.**Highlights:** - 40-bed cardiac progressive care unit specializing in complex cardiovascular conditions- Patient ratio: 1:4 (stretch staffing may include 1:5)- Patient population includes CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, post-cardiac procedures (cath/stent, pacemaker/ICD, ablation), and DKA- Advanced cardiac skills required: titration of IV cardiac medications including nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, vasoactive drips, insulin, and heparin- EMR: Cerner; Equipment includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, and standard PCU equipment- Float to medical-surgical, stepdown, and emergency holding areas as needed**Requirements:** - Active Registered Nurse license - BLS and ACLS certification required- Progressive care or stepdown experience required- Telemetry monitoring experience required- Demonstrated competency with titratable cardiac IV drips and vasoactive medications- Preferred: Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge experience- Professional attire: Navy blue and/or white scrubs**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** Join a dedicated cardiac progressive care team where you'll care for a diverse cardiovascular patient population in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
