Description:
The position requires a Registered Nurse in the PCU specialty.
Shifts are scheduled for 3 nights per week from 19:00 to 07:00.
Every other weekend coverage is required.
Travelers are accepted; however, local candidates must be within a 75-mile radius.
A minimum of one year of experience is necessary.
Candidates must be able to manage a patient ratio of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg.
Certifications in BLS and NIHSS are required; please include NIHSS in the submission.
Charting experience with EPIC is mandatory.
Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring and emergency response.
Nurses will interpret dysrhythmias and manage them effectively.
Utilization of Rapid Response and Code teams is expected.
Candidates will perform IV therapy and phlebotomy, specifically with peripheral line care and management.
Experience in respiratory care, including nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks, is important.
Isolation precautions will be necessary as part of patient care.
The unit comprises 26 beds, focusing on providing evidence-based care to patients.
Patients will be received from various areas, including the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit.
This role involves caring for adult acute care patients requiring specialized care beyond what is available on a general medical-surgical unit.
All patients will have continuous pulse oximetry and telemetry monitoring.
Care involves airway management and acute BIPAP support, as well as handling patients with arterial lines, central lines, and those on medicated IV infusions.
