# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Stepdown Unit – Virginia

Schedule: 12-hour shifts with every other weekend requirement; 4:1 patient ratio; overtime opportunities available
Highlights:- 18-bed Cardiac Stepdown Unit specializing in post-surgical cardiac care and complex cardiovascular conditions
- Manage patients recovering from CABG, valve replacement, TAVR, Mitral clip procedures, thoracotomy, and acute cardiac conditions including Afib, CHF, and MI
- Work with cardiac drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, and nitroglycerin; equipment includes central lines, PCA pumps, chest tubes, pacer wires, telemetry monitoring, and drains
- Meditech EMR system with q4h vital signs, assessments, and rhythm interpretation protocols
- Collaborate with a dedicated team of 38 clinical staff members in a supportive, compassionate care environment
- May float to telemetry and medical-surgical units as needed
Requirements:- Active Virginia RN license or eligibility for licensure
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Ability to read and interpret cardiac monitor rhythms
- Experience administering narcotics safely and effectively
- Stepdown unit experience strongly preferred
- Cardiac nursing knowledge and experience highly desirable
