Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in a progressive care unit.
The unit has 15 beds with a patient ratio of 4:1.
There is 1-2 LNA support available.
The unit is equipped with GE Monitors, Hamilton Bipap and Hiflo, Baxter IV Pumps, and Hemospheres.
Documentation is completed using the Meditech Expanse system.
Scheduling requires 12 shifts per month, with 3 shifts per week and 4 weekend shifts.
Schedules are completed by department leadership and will accommodate requests.
Floating will be done on a rotation basis, with travelers floating first.
Patient experience is prioritized, and myCare boards are updated at each shift during bedside shift report.
Bedside shift reports are conducted at each change of shift.
This unit is a Comprehensive Stroke Center and a Level 2 Trauma Center.
Candidates with additional skills such as arterial line insertion and temporary pacing will be given priority.
Procedures performed on this unit include pre-op preparation for cardiovascular surgery, temporary pacing, and chest-tube removal.
The team includes a mobility support team and patient monitoring through a central monitor station.
