Description:
The role involves working on a Step Down unit, providing care for patients transitioning from intensive care.
The Registered Nurse will monitor and manage patients' conditions, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
The position requires working three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and one major holiday.
Responsibilities include accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring.
The candidate should possess skills in administering oxygen, managing IVs, and wound care.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment are essential.
A thorough understanding of patient care protocols and safety guidelines is required.
Patients in this role will include adults and geriatric populations.
The daily census is typically around 32 patients, and the unit is supported by various services including physical therapy and respiratory services.
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of patient care and ensuring patient safety at all times.
