Description:
The unit provides care for progressive care patients.
It has a capacity of 23 beds.
The staff consists of 9 healthcare professionals.
Day shift includes 6-7 registered nurses and 2 aides.
Night shift includes 6-7 registered nurses and 2 aides.
Patient-to-staff ratio is 4:1.
Equipment used includes bedside monitors, end tidal CO2 monitoring, high flow devices, chronic ventilators, and subdural drains.
Electronic medical records are managed through Meditech.
Candidates with neuro and trauma experience are preferred.
Typical procedures performed include chest tubes and EEGs.
The ideal candidate is team-oriented.
Floating may occur to all inpatient units including intensive care.
Dress code is professional with no specific scrub color.
Weekend shifts are required every other week, and there is no on-call requirement.
