Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MS/Tele/PCU Float Pool Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: At least 1 year in PCU setting Description: Prescreening and manager review required. Clinician must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing contract. If clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, they will be DNU for 6 months. Radius rule is 50 miles. Candidates may not have worked full-time, part-time, or PRN with any affiliated facility within the past year. Float pool includes MedSurg Tele and PCU across various campuses. Includes inpatients holding in ED as well. Patient ratios are PCU 1:4 and MedSurg Tele 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include geriatric and orthopedic patients. Experience with post-procedural patients is required, including care for groin sites in stepdown units. Must manage various drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Insulin. Charge nurses will not take assignments but are present on each unit. Nurse aids will be utilized in all settings. CPAP or BiPAP is used at night in MedSurg. PCU has BiPAP, CPAP, and heated high flow capabilities. Stepdown units have monitoring technology in place. RNs must be able to interpret cardiac strips. Schedulers will create shift schedules, published 6 weeks in advance for 4 weeks at a time. Travelers should be flexible in their scheduling. Weekend requirements include every other weekend. Holidays will include travelers in the permanent staff rotation. There is no call or standby requirement. Assignments will be communicated 2 hours prior to the start of the shift. Distance between campuses is approximately 20-25 minutes. Dress code is solid color professional scrubs, transitioning to navy scrubs. Cancellation policy allows for a set number of shifts per contract. Charting system is Cerner.
