Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active RN license Certifications: ACLS BLS NIH-SS Must-Have: 1 year of step-down ICU/IMC/PCU experience. 1 year of telemetry/cardiac monitoring experience. Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a high acuity stepdown unit. This is a stepdown ICU position. The role requires a skilled practitioner who can adapt to quickly changing acuities. The unit has 19 beds with a staffing ratio of 3:1. Equipment used includes bedside monitors, IV pumps, high flow oxygen, BiPap, and surgical drains. Experience with trach patients requiring continuous BiPap and long term vent support is preferred. Candidates should have experience with titratable drips like dopamine, dobutamine, and heparin. CIWA assessments and alcohol/drug withdrawal treatment experience would be beneficial. The ideal candidate will be a positive team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Physical assessments and intake/output must be completed every 4 hours. Hourly safety rounds and two-hour positioning and ADLs are required. Bedside handoff during shift changes is mandatory. Every other weekend commitment is expected. Delayed start is utilized in low census situations.
