Description:
Position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit.
The shift consists of three 12-hour days from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM.
Charting system used is Epic.
Weekend requirement may be every other weekend or six weekend shifts within a 6-week scheduling block.
Requests for time off must be submitted upfront.
Facility policy allows for canceling one shift per two weeks.
One holiday must be worked during the 13-week contract.
First-time travelers are accepted.

Required clinical skills include:
Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
Activation of rapid response and code teams.
IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration.
Central and peripheral line care.
Administration and management of cardiac drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, low-dose dopamine, Amiodarone, Nitro, Bumex, and Lasix (non-titration).
Respiratory support, including nasal cannula, oxygen delivery, and non-invasive airway management.
Patient ratios on days are 1:5, with a goal ratio of 4:1.
The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with high turnover.
The primary focus is on chest pain management, expediting ER flow, and ruling in/out myocardial infarction.
The unit occasionally receives post-cath patients and employs remote telemetry and tele sitting.
Floating to other units may be required based on skill set.
