Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years Required License: Active Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS; ACLS Preferred Must-Have: Experience in telemetry and cardiac telemetry settings. Must be willing to float within the scope to meet facility needs. Description: PCU Registered Nurse position available. The nurse will be responsible for caring for patients requiring intermediate level of care. Patient ratios are 1:5. Candidates with 2 years of nursing experience are preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. Holiday shifts and charge nurse assignments may be required. Weekend requirements include 8 shifts in a 6-week scheduling period, including combinations of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Floating between departments, units, and facilities may be necessary. Essential skills include cardiac monitoring and emergency response, including the interpretation of dysrhythmias. Experience with feeding tube care and management is required. Knowledge of pre and post hemodialysis care is essential. Candidates should have experience with IV therapy and phlebotomy. The nurse must administer blood products and manage central and peripheral line care. Management of significant medications such as heparin protocols and cardiac drips is necessary. Experience in neurological and psychiatric conditions is beneficial. Candidates should be adept in respiratory care, including high flow nasal cannula and oxygen management. Wound care and isolation precautions are necessary skills. The daily patient census will be around 30 patients. The unit consists of 30 rooms. The candidate should demonstrate ability in multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment. All required documentation and training must be completed as per facility policy prior to the start date.
