Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Ability to take extra patients if required Description: RN/PCU ratios are 1:5. On rare occasions, the ratio may flex to 1:6, and travelers will be expected to take the extra patients. Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments may be needed per unit. There is a requirement for 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period, which may include combinations of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Floating within scope may be required to meet facility needs regularly. Skills required include telemetry and cardiac monitoring, as well as emergency response skills related to dysrhythmias. Competency in managing IV therapy and phlebotomy is necessary, including blood product administration and line care management. Proficiency in medication protocols such as heparin and PCA is required. Experience with respiratory management, including chest tubes and non-invasive airway management, is essential. Knowledge of isolation precautions, wound care, and wound vacuum therapy is needed. Skills preferred include care management in cardiac telemetry, ER holding, and feeding tube management. Experience with tracheostomy management, rapid response teams, and renal failure is beneficial. Patient diagnoses include those related to pulmonary, wounds, urology, general cardiac, general neuro, and general renal conditions. Clinical support is provided by interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The facility is recognized for excellence and has a total of 456 staffed beds. Charting is performed using an electronic health record system. Travelers must possess the required licensure and certifications.
