Description:
Position involves working in a mixed unit of PCU and Med Surg Tele.
Ratios are 1:4 for all shifts.
Charge experience is essential.
Weekend coverage is required every other weekend.
Candidates will float within the service line as needed.
Patient age group includes adults and geriatrics.
Common patient diagnoses include chest pain, abdominal pain, atrial fibrillation, TIA, anemia/GI bleed, dehydration/AKI, syncope, vertigo, COPD, asthma, UTI/pyelonephritis, headache/migraine, CHF, seizure, carbon monoxide poisoning, pancreatitis, cellulitis, and post-outpatient surgery complications.
Approximately two-thirds of patients are managed by providers reachable via phone call.
The department has a fast-paced environment with a length of stay goal of 18 - 24 hours.
Experience in observation medicine is preferred.
Telemetry experience is essential.
Floating may occur between multiple facilities as needed.
Completion of modules is a requirement; the first 8 hours spent on modules are non-billable.
Epic charting experience is required.
All travelers are expected to adhere to compliance and scheduling guidelines.
