Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit - Stepdown Duration: 17 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years in Stepdown in an acute care setting License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: 2 years of experience in Stepdown in an acute care setting is required without exception. Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms. Description: Strict 75-mile radius rule applies. Must be located more than 75 miles from the facility to the address on the traveler’s driver's license. Nurse to patient ratios are 1 to 5. Unit has 44 beds, including 8 semi-private rooms. Charge Nurse serves as Clinical Supervisor. Weekend requirement is every other weekend. Flexibility is needed for holidays and shifts around holidays. Unit focuses on cardiac cases and patients who have undergone various cardiovascular surgeries and procedures. Common diagnoses include CABG, thoracotomy, stents, AICD, and a range of other cardiac conditions. Fast turnover of rooms, with an average census of 32-38 patients. It is crucial to be able to float to ICU but only stepdown patients will be accepted unless ICU experience is confirmed. Must have natural-colored hair and avoid fake nails, shellac on nails, facial piercings, and visible tattoos.
