Description:
This is a high-functioning Progressive Care Unit with multiple long-term patients.
Weekends and holidays are rotated among staff.
Travelers are expected to float between campuses as needed.
Charge experience is preferred.
The patient age group includes adults.
The daily census is approximately 30 patients.
There are 35 beds in the unit, all providing telemetry monitoring for cardiac surveillance.
Interdisciplinary support is available from various departments including respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
Patient diagnoses include stroke, renal disorders, sepsis, endocrine disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, and hematological disorders.
We care for patients requiring long-term care due to their complex medical needs.
Patients are not transferred off the floor when downgraded from Progressive Care to medical-surgical care.
The unit allows for comprehensive cardiac surveillance through a centralized monitoring department.
All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam.
Modules are non-billable and completed during onboarding.
