Must-Have:
Candidates must have stepdown or progressive care experience.
Candidates must have telemetry experience.
Candidates must have experience with titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drip, heparin, and bumetanide/Lasix.
Description:
The unit has a total of 40 beds.
Staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 10 bedside nurses, 4 patient care technicians, and 1 unit secretary on day shift, and 1 charge nurse, 10 bedside nurses, and 3 patient care technicians on night shift.
Patient ratios are typically 1:4, with stretch staffing at a 1:5 ratio.
The patient population includes individuals with congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, diabetic ketoacidosis, and those recovering from cardiac catheterization, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, or ablation procedures.
Type of equipment used includes Zoll monitors, Baxter pumps, lift equipment, bladder scanners, and electronic medical records software.
The ideal candidate is flexible, positive, a great team player, and compassionate.
Preferred experience includes working with prostacyclins.
Typical procedures performed include bedside cardioversion.
Candidates must be available to float to all medical-surgical units, stepdown units, COVID units, and emergency room holding areas.
The dress code consists of either all white or all navy blue scrubs, or a white top with navy blue pants.
Every other weekend work is required.
