There is a dedicated charge nurse on both day and night shifts. The day shift has 11 RNs and 4 Patient Care Technicians, while the night shift has 10 RNs and 4 Patient Care Technicians. Patient ratios are 1:3-4 for step-down patients and 1:4-6 for medical-surgical patients. Equipment used includes lifts, chest tubes, cardiac drips, stable ventilated patients, and tracheostomy equipment. The electronic medical record system in use is Cerner. Ideal candidates should possess flexibility and a high level of clinical competence. Preferred experience includes familiarity with Cerner and procedures such as trach care, chest tube management, and wound dressing changes. Weekend shifts include 6 Saturdays or Sundays within a 6-week period.
