Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Step-Down experience Cardiac Drips experience BIPAP/CPAP/High Flow experience Sepsis management experience Description: This unit has a total of 20 beds with a patient ratio of 4:1. Staff includes Unit Secretary, Nurse Externs, Patient Care Techs, and Registered Nurses. The technological equipment used includes ZOLL, Baxter pumps, and GE telemetry monitors, among others. The documentation system in use is Expanse. Scheduling requires availability for every other weekend and holiday. Registered Nurses may float to other Step-Down and MedSurg units as needed. Patient Experience requirements include advanced cardiac life support and familiarity with various cardiac drips. Procedures performed on the unit may include occasional bedside cardioversion. The dress code consists of all navy blue or all white scrubs, closed-toed shoes, with no Crocs. Attendance is strictly monitored, with shifts starting promptly. Mandatory bedside shift reports are required for all patients. Recognition awards for outstanding performance on the unit include the Daisy Award, Rose Award, and others. The unit has a mix of experienced staff with over 30 years of nursing experience and newer graduates eager to learn. The team has maintained a 0% turnover rate for the last two years.
