# Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Telemetry Unit (PCTU) – North Carolina

Schedule:12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM), 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. Self-scheduling based on unit needs. 36-hour unit orientation provided.
Highlights:- Fast-paced 24-bed Intermediate Intensive Care Unit specializing in cardiac, medical/surgical, renal, bariatric, pulmonary, and trauma patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 with diverse case mix including heart failure, post-cardiac catheterization, post-procedural cardiac/vascular surgical patients, and acutely decompensated cardiac conditions
- Care for adult and geriatric populations requiring continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring, vasoactive medication management, non-invasive airway support (BiPAP, CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula), and advanced dysrhythmia management
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy
- Opportunities to care for patients with specialized cardiac devices including pacemakers, ICDs, arterial/venous sheaths, TAVR, Watchman devices, and Mitral Clips
- Contract lengths of 13 or 20 weeks available; floating to Cardiac Telemetry unit may be required with ratios up to 1:6 in Med/Surg assignments
Requirements:- Minimum 2 years of progressive care/telemetry nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
- Active RN license (NC or Compact state license accepted)
- Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Required Skills: Telemetry monitoring, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, peripheral line care/management, non-invasive airway management, post-cardiac catheterization experience, post-cardiac/vascular surgical experience
- Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Preferred: Charge nurse experience, wound care/wound vac experience
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
