Start Date: October 26, 2026
Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week available, every other weekend required, patient ratios 1:3-4
Highlights:
- ICU stepdown unit with 20 beds and average daily census of 18 patients
- Strong critical care drip experience required – unit manages one vasoactive drip per patient (Levophed, Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Neo)
- Arterial line experience and conscious sedation skills essential
- Epic EMR and Pyxis medication management system
- 13-week contracts or longer accepted with potential extension through February
- Floating to sister ICCU unit as needed; first-time travelers welcome
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of recent progressive care or stepdown experience
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to assignment start date
- Demonstrated competency in arterial line management, vasoactive drip titration, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and conscious sedation
- Experience with blood product administration, central/PICC line management, chest tubes, BIPAP/CPAP, high-flow oxygen, tracheostomy care, and isolation precautions
- IV start proficiency required
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
