Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in step-down care.
The nurse will frequently float to medical-surgical and telemetry units.
The applicant must be comfortable doing both.
Patient ratios are as follows: Step Down 1:4-5, Medical Surgical 1:5-6.
Floating will occur frequently, and this is a requirement for the role.
The unit is a 22-bed adult medical-surgical oncology unit.
The nurse will care for adult and geriatric patients with a variety of diagnoses.
Daily census in the unit averages around 22 patients.
Additional support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services.
The patient population includes cases such as surgical recovery, sepsis, pneumonia, diabetes, and oncological care.
Interdisciplinary collaboration is critical for patient care in this environment.
The facility expects nurses to work some holidays and weekends in rotation with staff.
Travel experience is preferred, but not mandatory.
Scrubs are not provided; royal blue and white is the required color scheme.
The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.
This position may require readiness to manage various medical procedures and emergencies.
