Description:
The role requires a registered nurse for the Neuro Intermediate Care Unit.
The nurse will work night shifts for a duration of 20 weeks.
Responsibilities include providing care to patients with neurological and medical intermediate needs.
The average patient ratio is 1:4 with a maximum unit census of 24 patients.
Candidates must possess essential skills in cardiac and emergency response, medications, IV therapy, and neurological care.
Knowledge and ability to interpret dysrhythmias and manage associated emergencies are crucial.
Caring for patients with aneurysms, CVAs, and traumatic brain injuries is a significant aspect of this position.
Candidates should be proficient in using rapid response and code teams.
Additional responsibilities include administering blood products, managing IV lines, and overseeing various patient care protocols.
The role emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
Floating to other intermediate care areas may be required.
Weekend shifts are mandatory, with a minimum of three weekend shifts every six weeks.
All policies regarding call-offs and time off are strictly enforced.
Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
Proper adherence to isolation precautions and wound care practices is expected.
