TravelNurseSource is working with Revolution Healthcare Services to find a qualified PCU RN in Winston Salem, North Carolina, 27103!

Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Medical-Surgical Telemetry – North Carolina

Start Date: October 26, 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour day shifts (06:45-19:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:
  • High-acuity 48-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit with PCU-level patients and specialized respiratory care
  • Patient ratios typically 1:4-5 (mixed acuity); maximum 1:6 in extreme situations with strong interdisciplinary support
  • Patient population includes COPD, pneumonia, acute respiratory failure, COVID-19, flu, pulmonary embolism, and patients requiring vents, trachs, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes
  • Epic EMR system with 24 hours of unit orientation
  • Contract length: 13 weeks minimum, with potential extension through February 2027
  • Extensive support resources including Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Vascular Access Team, RRT, Code Team, Respiratory Therapists, and Behavioral Health Team
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Current RN license (NC or Compact state)
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • NIHSS certification preferred
  • Proficiency in IV starts, ventilator management, telemetry monitoring, CPAP/BiPAP, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience with chest tubes, cardiac and vasoactive drips (dopamine, cardizem, heparin), and tracheostomy care
  • Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
  • Ability to float to similar units as needed
  • First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
