Description

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH certifications Must-Have: Experience with arterial lines and titrating vasoactive drips. Experience in PCU, DOU, IMC, Stepdown, and Telemetry. Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with Rapid Response Teams and IV insulin protocols. Experience in Blood Product Administration and Central line/PICC line management. Knowledge of heparin protocols and chest tube care. Experience with non-invasive airway management and tracheostomy management. Knowledge of isolation precautions. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation. The unit operates similarly to an ICU. Strong drip experience is required. Traveler experience is accepted, including first-time travelers. Locals are accepted with a rate difference. All candidates must have 24 hours of orientation. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Patient diagnoses include respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, and GI bleeds. The unit has a target patient ratio of 1:3-4. The daily census is 18 patients with 20 beds available. The unit provides bedside telemetry monitoring and requires nurses to recognize and treat dysrhythmias. Only one pressor drip per patient is allowed, otherwise, patients must be transferred to ICU. Nurses must be prepared to float to sister units as needed. No block scheduling is implemented. Navy and white scrubs or a combination are required. All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to the start in this specialty.
