# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Medical/Surgical Neurology – Tennessee

Location: Nashville, Tennessee

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week; two weekends (four shifts) per four-week schedule; 6:1 patient ratio on a 20-bed unit
Highlights:
- Specialized Neuro Medical/Surgical unit providing comprehensive stroke care at an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and Certified Chest Pain Center
- Work with supportive team structure including tech support on day and night shifts, and unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Documentation in Meditech EMR system
- Utilize advanced equipment including IV pumps, telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, feeding pumps, PCA, and iMobile communication technology
- Structured floating policy with contract labor floating first, followed by rotation
- Focus on patient-centered care with bedside shift reports and family involvement in care planning
Requirements:
- Active RN license in state of practice
- BLS certification (required)
- Medical/Surgical nursing experience required
- Strong ability to prioritize care and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Competency in IV insertion, basic wound care, and maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
- Navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) required
