Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit.
The facility is a community-based hospital with a cardiac telemetry focus.
The unit contains 18 beds, with an average daily census of 18.
Patients will include those requiring continuous monitoring of cardiac, respiratory, hemodynamic, and neurologic status.
Common diagnoses include NSTEMI, post-STEMI, and those recovering from cardiac interventional procedures.
You will care for vascular and thoracic surgical patients needing continuous cardiac and hemodynamic support.
Daily responsibilities include pharmacological titration of cardiac anti-arrhythmic drips.
You will also care for post-operative patients on day two after open-heart surgery and those experiencing respiratory failure.
Patient ratios will vary between 1:3 and 1:4 based on interventions.
Support staff include a Certified Nursing Assistant and a Charge Nurse.
There is access to a Rapid Response Team and Respiratory Therapists 24/7.
Telemetry monitoring is the responsibility of the Registered Nurse, including rhythm interpretation.
The facility uses an EMR system and various medical technologies for patient care.
The unit emphasizes a positive, team-focused culture.
The successful candidate will participate in weekend rotations and holiday scheduling.
This role requires collaboration and communication as part of a cohesive healthcare team.
