Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: West Virginia RN license or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: Chest tube insertion assistance, management and removal experience; central line experience; external/internal pacemakers; wound vacs experience required Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The unit specializes in post-operative open heart and other cardiothoracic post-surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring. The position requires accepting medical-surgical overflow. There is a patient ratio of 4:1. The schedule involves working weekdays, every other weekend, and floating as needed to meet facility needs. Candidates must be open to accommodating blocked schedule requests. All applicants are required to have experience managing dysrhythmias and telemetry. Strong communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills are essential for success in this role. Required equipment experience includes critical drip management for various medications. Prior charge experience is preferred, although not mandatory. Please note that flu vaccinations are mandatory unless a medical exemption is provided.
