Description: This position involves working in a Progressive Care Unit.
The unit ideally maintains a patient ratio of 1:4, but currently operates with a ratio of 1:5.
The unit has 29 beds.
Staff includes unit coordinators and patient care technicians.
Equipment on the unit includes Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn vital signs machines, bladder scanners, and vein finders.
Documentation is performed using a specific system.
Staff are expected to work 36 hours per week.
Floating to other areas within competencies may be required.
Candidates must provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate care.
Blood glucose checks are performed as ordered.
Monitored vital signs are taken every four hours, or more frequently based on patient conditions.
The dress code requires royal blue scrubs, with no artificial or gel nails.
Documentation and assessments must be completed every shift.
The team is cohesive and works well together.
Self-scheduling is available, especially for those who prefer consistent night shifts.
