Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 12 weeks Shift: 12 hours Hours per Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM Experience: 1-2 years of recent Progressive Care experience License: Active Registered Nurse license Certifications: AHA BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong neuro assessment and cardiac monitoring skills Description: This position supports the Adult Inpatient Division. Travelers will be preassigned to a primary unit but will float based on staffing needs. Preassigned units may change during the assignment based on census, acuity, and staffing needs. Must independently read and interpret telemetry strips. Experience with Cardizem, amiodarone, and heparin drips required. EPIC experience is required. Prior travel experience preferred. Must meet required ECG/telemetry competency. Travelers should expect to float across various inpatient areas based on staffing needs. Possible areas include Progressive Care/Telemetry, Medical-Surgical/Telemetry, Medical units, and Surgical/Orthopedic units. Travelers may be reassigned before or during a shift and may have their primary unit assignment changed during the contract. Common diagnoses include stroke evaluation, chest pain, arrhythmias, CHF, sepsis, respiratory failure, AKI, GI bleeding, and altered mental status. Travelers should be comfortable with CPAP, high-flow oxygen, telemetry monitoring, ECGs, and escalation of rhythm or clinical changes. Scheduling is based on division staffing needs and requires flexibility. Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule. Holiday coverage will be based on hospital need. The ideal candidate is an experienced, adaptable Progressive Care nurse who is comfortable floating. Candidates should be able to quickly integrate into different inpatient teams while providing safe, high-quality care.
