Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Tennessee

Start Date: September 14, 2026

Location: Hermitage, Tennessee

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week with every other weekend requirement; self-scheduling available with 4-week scheduling cycles

Highlights:

  • Progressive Care Unit with 34 and 25 bed units supporting critical step-down patient populations
  • Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 on day shifts and 1:5 to 1:6 on night shifts with dedicated tech support
  • Advanced equipment experience including BiPAPs, high flow oxygen, Vapotherm, cardiac drips, insulin drips, heparin drips, and peritoneal dialysis
  • EMR system: Meditech documentation platform
  • Procedures performed include peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube management, and central line care
  • May float between PCU units or to medical-surgical floors as needed

Requirements:

  • Current Registered Nurse license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Critical thinking skills and EKG rhythm interpretation ability
  • Experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and heparin drips
  • Peripheral IV skills required
  • Experience with BiPAPs, high flow oxygen systems, and multiple oxygen delivery methods
  • Stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization experience
  • Tube feeding and NG/Dobhoff tube management experience
  • Peritoneal dialysis experience preferred
