Candidates will work night shifts, with a patient ratio of 1:5. Weekend shifts are required, with every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period. Travelers will have a home base but could float to other units as needed. Certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS are mandatory. Medical or religious exemptions for required vaccinations may be accepted. References from authority figures must be provided. Candidates must complete necessary lab work within 72 hours of signing. Modules must be completed during the orientation and annually. Preferred qualifications include charge experience and trauma care experience. Interdisciplinary support is provided for various patient needs. The daily patient census is approximately 36. Skills in multiple areas such as cardiac telemetry and IV management are preferred. Candidates should be adaptable to patient diagnoses and special procedures associated with the unit.
