There is tech support available on both day and night shifts. An unit secretary is present from 7 AM to 7 PM. The type of equipment used includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCAs, EKG machines, bladder scanners, and communication technology. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. The scheduling requirements are for 3 shifts of 12 hours per week, including 2 weekends (4 shifts) in a 4-week schedule. Contract labor is the first to float, and a rotation is established when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled. Providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and their families is expected. Bedside shift reports and the ability to make personal connections with patients are essential.
