Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The unit has a total of 20 beds with patient ratios of 6:1. Tech support is available on both day and night shifts. An administrative staff member is on duty from 7 AM to 7 PM. Equipment used on the unit includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximeters, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, and bladder scanners. Communication technology includes iMobile. The documentation system utilized is Meditech. Scheduling requires three 12-hour shifts per week, including two weekends. Floating policy dictates that contract labor is the first to float, followed by staff according to a rotation when multiple personnel are scheduled. Patient experience requirements include providing attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members. Bedside shift reporting is expected, along with the ability to make personal connections with patients. Involvement of family members in the plan of care is encouraged. Advanced certifications for this role include Comprehensive Stroke certification and ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center. Dress code includes navy scrubs for both tops and bottoms.
