The unit is equipped with bipap machines, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, and various types of drips, including cardiac, heparin, and insulin. Documentation is managed through a specific medical system. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, including a commitment to work every other weekend. Floating to other units may be required. Patient experience standards include hourly rounding on days and every two hours during nights. The unit utilizes communication tools for patient engagement and experience. Experience with common procedures like peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and tube insertions is required. Team collaboration and a supportive care culture are emphasized.
