The unit is equipped with bipaps, high flow oxygen, vapotherm, Alaris pumps, and various cardiac drips. Documentation is managed through a specified system. Scheduled work requires every other weekend commitment and three 12-hour shifts per week. Floating between units may be necessary. Patient experience protocols include hourly rounding during the day and every two hours at night. Team communication is emphasized, including maintaining communication boards. Specific certifications are required for operation. Candidates should possess critical skills and experience relevant to advanced patient care. The unit promotes a supportive culture, teamwork, and opportunities for self-scheduling. Most staff members who begin contracts on this unit choose to extend their assignments.
