Description:
The position requires the provision of care to adult critical patients aged 18 years and older.
Patient diagnoses include medical/surgical, neurological, and cardiac conditions requiring specialized care.
The unit accommodates 32 ICU beds with bedside and remote telemetry capabilities.
Clinical responsibilities include but are not limited to administering cardiac drips, intensive insulin drips, heparin drips, and continuous sedation and analgesia drips.
Nutritional support, including TPN and tube feedings, is provided for patients.
The position also involves managing continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) and performing hypothermia therapy.
Staff participate in interdisciplinary support with various teams, including IV Teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Pharmacy.
The patient ratio on nights is typically 2 patients to 1 nurse.
Prerequisites include previous charge experience of 2 years and skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients.
The unit supports a variety of clinical treatments and activities aimed at complex patient needs.
