Charge nurse without assignment when census allows. Patient Care Technicians are available on each shift. Dedicated telemetry monitoring support is provided. Equipment includes continuous cardiac monitoring, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, PCA pumps, and Alaris IV infusion pumps. The documentation system used is EPIC. Scheduling requires 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week period and participation in holiday rotation. Floating within competency is expected. Patient experience requirements include bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and adherence to patient-centered care standards. The unit holds certifications as a Comprehensive Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, and Level II Trauma Center. Advanced skills required include management of vasoactive drips, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen therapy, Bipap, Cpap, and care for post-cardiac procedure patients. Participation in rapid response is also a responsibility. Procedures performed on the unit include TEE and cardioversions. Dress code consists of Caribbean Blue scrubs.
