Description:
The unit consists of a total of 24 beds.
Day shift staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, and 2 Patient Care Technicians.
Night shift staffing includes 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, and 2 Patient Care Technicians.
The patient ratio is a maximum of 5:1.
Standard equipment includes an Electronic Medical Record system.
The unit currently focuses on medical trauma cases.
Candidates must possess essential nursing skills such as medication administration, assessments, and communication with the care team.
Documentation must be maintained in the Electronic Health Record.
Care of patients post cardiac catheterization is also a typical responsibility.
The ideal candidate is friendly, positive, patient-centered, team-focused, and has a calm demeanor.
Charge Nurse experience and familiarity with the Electronic Medical Record system are preferred.
Typical procedures performed include thoracentesis and chest tube placement.
Weekends are typically rotating.
