Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Cardiac knowledge preferred; ACLS and BLS required Description: Join a dynamic healthcare team in a progressive care unit setting. We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with a passion for patient care. This unit features a 30-bed capacity with a patient ratio of 6:1. Staffing includes unit clerks, patient care technicians, nursing supervisors, and hospitalists. The unit utilizes various equipment such as Welch Allyn vitals neuron and GE Telemetry. Documentation is managed through Meditech-HCA version. Nurses have access to a WOW and a PyxisES dispensing system for medications. Scheduling requires working every other weekend. Flexibility to float to other Medical/Surgical areas is required. Essential to perform bedside and hourly rounding with a focus on patient needs. A collaborative approach to patient experience with thorough communication is vital. Advanced skills in administering specific cardiac drips are necessary. Procedures such as chest tube management and wound vac management are performed on this unit. The dress code is navy scrubs for RNs, with options for colored t-shirts underneath. Documentation of telemetry application and acknowledgment of rhythm strips must be completed. The unit promotes a no-pass zone for alarms to enhance patient safety. There are opportunities for recognition through awards and shared governance initiatives within the unit.
