Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: ACLS Must-Have: Advanced skills needed: ACLS, familiar with cardiac and insulin drips Description: The unit profile includes 29 beds with ideally a patient ratio of 1:4, currently running at 1:5. Unit staffing includes unit secretaries and patient care technicians. Type of equipment utilized includes Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn vital sign machines, bladder scans, and vein finders. The documentation system employed is Meditech. Staff is required to work 36 hours per week, with a floating policy that allows staff to float to areas of their competencies. Patient experience requires providing safe, high-quality, and compassionate care. Mandatory documentation includes vital signs every 4 hours, with increased frequency based on patient condition, and blood glucose checks as ordered. Required assessment and documentation occur every shift. The dress code requires royal blue scrubs, with no artificial or gel nails.
