Description:
We have a patient ratio of 1:3.
The unit has 24 beds and a total of 43 staff members.
Day shift consists of 24 patients with 1 charge nurse, 8 RNs, and Utilization Staff.
Night shift consists of 24 patients with 1 charge nurse and 8 RNs.
We utilize Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom, iMobile with Apple, and telemetry.
EMR system is Meditech.
Most recruited skills include being a great communicator between patients and the interdisciplinary team.
Six months of PCU experience is preferred.
Typical procedures performed in this unit include:
- Days post CABG, AVR/MVR, and aortic root repairs.
- LVAD and immediate post VATS (including chest tubes).
- Post vascular surgeries and pre/post cath lab and EP procedures (pacemaker/AICD, heart caths, PCIs, TAVR).
- Bedside procedures such as paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion.
The ideal candidate will be caring and a great team player.
Floating areas may include Med-Surg/tele and Ortho.
Dress code includes royal blue scrubs.
There are 4 weekend shifts required in a 4-week schedule.
