Job Title: RN - PCU/IMC Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Progressive Care Unit/Intermediate Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. BLS ACLS Description: This is a contract position for a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit. The contract duration is for 13 weeks. The shift is from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Days and weekends will rotate. No call is required. The unit has 32 beds and is staffed by 9 Registered Nurses, 3 Patient Care Technicians, and 2 Telemetry Monitor Technicians. Day shift staffing includes 9 Registered Nurses, 3 Patient Care Technicians, and 2 Telemetry Monitor Technicians, while night shift includes 9 Registered Nurses, 2 or 3 Patient Care Technicians, and 2 Telemetry Monitor Technicians. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. Equipment used in the unit includes patient-specific items, IV pumps, SCD pumps, BiPap/CPAP, and telemetry monitors. The electronic medical record system in use is Meditech. Typical procedures on this unit include preoperative and postoperative care, as well as drip titration and non-titration drips. Candidates should possess a willingness to grow and learn, along with a positive attitude. The dress code requires navy scrubs.
