Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 28-bed Postpartum unit at a ratio of 3 couplets to 1 nurse
• Care for vaginal and C-section delivered patients with diagnoses including Pre-Eclampsia, Diabetes, Hypertension, and stable Post-Hemorrhage
• Document and manage patient records using Cerner EMR
• Fulfill weekend requirements, with an expected 4 weekend shifts per scheduling period (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday count as weekends)
• Work holidays as needed and participate in floor-specific orientation (up to 3 shifts as needed)
• Collaborate with an in-house OB Hospitalist available 24/7, as well as house SWAT IV team, RT, and Pharmacy support available around the clock

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Mother Baby / Postpartum experience, with experience required to be recent (within the past 6 months)
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start (maximum of 2 attempts permitted)
• Must pass a Simulation Lab assessment on day 1 of orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
• Experience caring for high-acuity postpartum patients including Pre-Eclampsia and Post-Hemorrhage cases
• Charge Nurse experience a plus
