Travel Nurse RN - Postpartum - $2,060 per week in Overland Park, KS

Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum women and newborns, including well baby nursery, LDRP recoveries, and attending births for baby assessments. Deliver discharge education, pain management, and prioritize patient care based on acuity using AIDET and BSSR communication frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care for postpartum women and newborns, including well baby nursery, LDRP recoveries, and attending births for baby assessments
• Assess and identify risk factors related to sepsis, VTE/DVT, suicide, malignant hyperthermia, and pressure injury
• Perform and support unit procedures including circumcisions
• Deliver discharge education, pain management, and prioritize patient care based on acuity using AIDET and BSSR communication frameworks
• Document accurately using CPN and Meditech electronic health record systems
• Float within women's services as needed; cross-trained staff may also float to pediatrics and/or NICU

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Minimum 1 year of postpartum/mother-baby nursing experience
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 6-8 patients per shift

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred
• Experience with CPN and/or Meditech documentation systems
• Cross-training or experience in pediatrics and/or NICU
• Familiarity with LDRP, well baby nursery, and postpartum recovery workflows
