Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | 40 Hours Per Week | Onsite | Days – Variable 4x10 shifts with start times of 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for patients across a 14-bay PACU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio, averaging 35 patients per day
- Care for patients following general, spine and neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, and orthopedic proceduresli>Stabilize ICU-level patients in the PACU prior to transfer to the ICU
- Participate in on-call rotation, including one night per week for 4 out of every 6 weeks and every 5th weekend, with a 30-minute response time requirement
- Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation schedules as assigned by the unit
- Document patient care accurately using electronic health record systems
Required Qualifications
- Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience with recent hospital-based practice
- Experience with post-cardiac and pediatric patient populations
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Proficiency with Epic electronic health record system strongly preferred; candidates without Epic experience must have prior electronic charting experience
- Familiarity with post-recovery PACU workflows and high-volume patient throughput environments
