Travel RN – PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days | 4 x 10-hour rotating shifts (8:00 AM – 6:30 PM) | 2 weekends of on-call per month (Saturday/Sunday = 1 weekend) | One night call per week
Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
- Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring clinical intervention
- Develop, implement, and evaluate a measurable, individualized plan of care consistent with Nursing Standards of Care
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical findings and modify the plan of care accordingly
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
- Float within surgical services as required and perform Point of Care testing procedures; document timely interventions using EPIC EMR
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
- Current New Mexico RN license or active Compact state license
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior PACU or surgical services nursing experience
- Experience with EPIC EMR
- National professional nursing certification or advanced nursing education (BSN or MSN)
