    Key Responsibilities
    • Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs
    • Reassess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring clinical intervention
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate a measurable, individualized plan of care in accordance with Nursing Standards of Care
    • Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of clinical findings and patient outcomes, modifying the plan of care as needed
    • Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning
    • Perform Point of Care testing procedures and document timely, appropriate interventions
    Required Qualifications
    • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program
    • Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license
    • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Current ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Current PALS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Ability to fulfill weekend requirement: 2 weekends per month (Saturday/Sunday = 1 weekend, 12-hour call shifts) and one night call per week
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with EPIC EMR system
    • Experience floating to other units within a surgical services department
    • National professional nursing certification or advanced nursing education (BSN or MSN)
